123Mania123Mania is a sidebar search hijacker, address bar search hijacker and adware from Matrix Technology Network, targeted at 123mania.com. It consists of one advertising DLL set to run at Windows start time, and one search hijacker DLL (providing an explorer bar and URLSearchHook). 123Mania is an adware component that displays pop-up advertisements and changes browser settings. The application typically installs by user consent; however, functions and methods utilized by the program are questionable and may not be explicitly, if at all, addressed in the EULA agreement. 123Mania may be associated with modified browser settings, unsolicited advertisements (typically occurring as popup or pop under windows), decelerated web browsing, and general system slowdown. Both 123Mania DLLs are also Internet Explorer Browser Helper Objects. It is Installed by ActiveX drive-by-download, suspected to be triggered by pop-up ads. Also bundled with Matrix's NTP client at internet-time.com.
